Ribble Rivers Trust is proud to announce that No.1 Fairham Gin has partnered with the Trust as part of a new partnership.
Penwortham-based No. 1 Fairham Gin has already caused a sensation in the gin industry with Liam Stemson and Ellis McKeown, two of the youngest gin distillers in the UK, at the heart of the craft gin brand.
The distillers combine a delicate blend of plants and exotic fruits through 100 percent steam infusion for their Signature Edition release and have created a truly handcrafted, small, modern craft gin with a unique smooth finish full of citrus-fresh flavors.
No.1 Fairham Gin has put the environment first from the start and will now purchase a tree sapling for every bottle sold through retail outlets as part of their eco-conscious business plan. Each of these tree saplings are planted by the Ribble Rivers Trust in Lancashire, one of the areas with the least forest cover in the country.
The trees planted under this partnership will offer a variety of benefits, including creating new forests for wildlife and humans, promoting biodiversity, slowing water flow, reducing the risk of flooding, and improving water and air quality . Perhaps most importantly, these trees help reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere by absorbing the carbon as they grow, which will ultimately help reduce the effects of climate change.
By partnering with Ribble Rivers Trust, No.1 Fairham Gin is committed to serving their local environment and the human and wildlife communities that call the Ribble River Basin home.
Ellis of No.1 Fairham Gin stated, “We are very proud to partner with Ribble Rivers Trust in their decade-long campaign aimed at doubling the area of forest in Lancashire. Liam and I are constantly looking for ways to broaden our eco-friendly ethos, and the idea behind the ‘One Bottle = One Tree’ partnership was for us that we are responsible for everything we get from nature through the use of plants and exotic fruits take, wanted to do this to give something back, and what better way to do this than to help local communities and fight climate change at the same time. “
Jack Spees, CEO of the Ribble Rivers Trust added, “The pandemic has made location a far greater concern for everyone, from the source of your food and drink to the way you enjoy your surroundings. This has led to an increasing demand from the local population, who want more measures to improve our rivers and the surrounding area. We’re really grateful to companies like No.1 Fairham Gin who show commitment not only to the local environment but also to the local communities. We look forward to working with you in the years to come. “
The Ribble Rivers Trust relies on grant funding, but while the grantors fund most of their activities, they do not fund some of the vital work they do.
Since 1997, support from companies like No.1 Fairham Gin has helped the Ribble Rivers Trust develop a more regular, reliable flow of funding to help create new forests, restore peat bogs, remove river barriers and deliver national curriculum-approved training. for children with different backgrounds.
As one of the UK’s largest Rivers Trusts and one of the region’s leading environmental organizations, the Ribble Rivers Trust is in a unique position to lead everyone towards a greener future. Business supporters are critical to helping Ribble Rivers Trust build on these improvements and ensure the area is more resilient to climate change, flooding, habitat loss and declining wildlife populations.
