Stockport-based cash and carry company Parfetts is supporting retailers with the appointment of Richard Fleming as Operations Manager (West).

He will be responsible for developing the service provided for the Stockport, Aintree and Anfield depots and ensuring excellence in cash and carry operations.

Richard joins the company from Booker and will report to Andy Whitworth, director of wholesale at Parfetts.

Go Local Fascia has grown rapidly over the past two years and has more than 1,000 retailers. The service provided has helped Parfetts expand its reach into the Midlands, North Wales and the Scottish Borders over the past 12 months.

Andy Whitworth said, “Richard brings a wealth of experience to this new role. He joins the company at an exciting time as Go Local and The Local Brands are expanding across the North West. Our delivery offer, which allows retailers to order by noon and have it delivered the next day, is proving very popular with both new and existing customers.”

Parfetts operates across the North, Midlands and Wales through a national logistics network, digital channels and seven wholesale depots.

Roxtec, manufacturer of cable and pipe seals, has appointed a new technical director for the process industry. Renzo Schettini joins the Bury based company after several years as Business Development Manager for a UK based manufacturer.

In this role, Renzo, who has a strong background in sales and support, was responsible for a large part of the cable specialist’s European territory, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Switzerland.

He has over 15 years of experience across a range of sectors including Industrial Safety Devices covering Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and OEM.

In his new role, Renzo will work to grow Roxtec’s business and presence in the process industry, focusing on industrial cluster decarbonisation projects across the UK while remaining committed to the petrochemical industry.

His appointment comes as Swedish-owned Roxtec, which has its UK headquarters at Waterfold Business Park in Bury, has had a strong 12 months, taking UK sales to over £6m and group sales to over £173m will increase. UK headcount is now 20.

Marketing Lancashire, the county’s destination management organization, has welcomed a new member to the team.

Ian Stackhouse, originally from Burnley, joins the organization as Partnership Manager and will be responsible for looking after Visit Lancashire’s 500+ tourism and hospitality partners and for finding new partnership opportunities that help showcase the county and economic benefits to achieve.

Ian is a Leisure Marketing graduate with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors having worked in destination marketing, business support, town center management and regeneration. He returned home in April 2021 after 15 years in Cornwall and for the past year has worked as an Economic Development Officer at Rossendale Borough Council where his responsibilities have included tourism development and marketing.

Chester-based employment law, human resources and health and safety consultancy WorkNest has announced the appointment of its new chief people officer, Katie Muncaster.

A CIPD Chartered Fellow with a degree in Psychology and an HR career spanning over two decades, Katie brings extensive experience and a passion for people and engagement. She will be instrumental in developing WorkNest’s corporate culture across the UK and delivering on the promises made in the WorkNest Pledge, a statement of the company’s workplace values ​​and commitments to ESG and D&I.

The Maldron Hotel Manchester City Center has announced the appointment of Carl Davies as General Manager ahead of its official opening which is due to take place in February.

The four-star hotel, owned by the Dalata Hotel Group, is situated opposite the new Circle Square development off Oxford Road and will have 278 modern rooms, a restaurant and bar, a café, a fitness suite and meeting and conference rooms have function rooms.

Originally from South Wales, Carl has been in the hospitality industry for 17 years and joined the Dalata Hotel Group in 2016. He began his career with the Irish hotel group as Food and Beverage Manager for the Clayton Hotel Cardiff and quickly rose through the ranks to Deputy General Manager.

He said: “It has been incredibly exciting to watch the hotel grow together, from the early days of construction to the recruitment of our experienced team as we approach opening day.

“There is a big buzz in the air, the pace is picking up and the hotel is really taking shape now. No two days have been the same so far, but that’s what I love about working in the hospitality industry.”
