It is time for us to find new talent for our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Management Team, to help us move forward with the expansion of the service, in response to the impending Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS).
What we are looking for…
These are dedicated specialist roles, working alongside a range of people and specialists; you will be striving to ensure continuous implementation of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Court of Protection (CoP) Deprivation of Liberty processes within Adult Services; you will be responsible for the provision of guidance, support, training and advice in the practical application of the relevant legislation. You will undertake these responsibilities with colleagues, partners, and senior managers, both internally and externally.
As the Court of Protection Coordinator, you will support the various practitioners within Adult Services in the effective application of law relating to consent to care and treatment, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty. You will provide practical support, mentoring and training to colleagues who are engaged in making applications to Court of Protection for Deprivation of Liberty (CoP DoL) authorizations.
The role interface with other areas of the council’s business eg, Children & Young Peoples Services, and the wider health and social care economy and the post holders will need to provide advice and supprt, as appropriate.
You will also support the authority’s response to Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) legislation and will be required to provide operational management relating to the implementation of LPS. The post holder will therefore be required to be part of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) management team and provide management support and supervision to a number of Best Interest Assessors (BIAs) in the team.
