Three Lancashire counties saw double-digit increases in new coronavirus cases, while one area remained unchanged.
Blackburn with Darwen again showed the largest increase in the last 24 hours with 21 new cases, according to Public Health England.
It comes after local council and public health leaders confirmed today that cases of the Indian variant of Covid-19 have been discovered in several areas of the county.
Burnley saw the second largest jump with 12 cases, while Chorley also had at least 10 positive tests since yesterday.
Ten other counties saw single-digit increases in the latest data released this afternoon (May 12), while Fylde was the only area that had no further positive tests.
Lancashire has now accumulated a total of 126,302 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began. It is important to note that most of these are no longer active infections.
The government also said there had been an additional 2,284 laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK by 9 a.m. on Wednesday. It brings the grand total to 4,441,975.
As of Wednesday, an additional 11 people had died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test, bringing the total to 127,640 in the UK.
Separate figures released by the UK statistical authorities show that 152,000 deaths have been recorded in the UK with a mention of Covid-19 on the death certificate.
Government data through May 11 also shows that of the 54,160,993 vaccinations given in the UK to date, 35,722,461 were first doses – an increase of 135,113 from the previous day.
About 18,438,532 were second doses, an increase from 350,147.
