A generous and motivated Darwen man has challenged himself to an intense weight loss journey in aid of the East Lancashire Hospice.

Carl Knowles, managing director at electrical business Elektec, is completing a sponsored weight loss to raise money for the Hospice.

So far, Carl has lost almost three and a half stone since he started the body transformation challenge on Tuesday, May 3.

An online fitness trainer, Jessica Cronshaw has supported Carl on his journey by offering free of charge health and fitness sessions throughout the past months.

With the deadline looming, Carl only has four more weeks to continue smashing the challenge to raise money for the Hospice.

Wednesday, August 31, marks the end of The Corporate Challenge and Carl hopes to raise more money and shed any last bit of weight

Elektec is taking part in The Corporate Challenge and has so far raised a whopping £600 for the Hospice and are determined to raise even more.

With his wife Charlotte, the couple are also raffling a 7kw Zappi electric vehicle charging point and offering free installation for one lucky home owner in East Lancashire.

The couple and business owners aren’t the only ones dedicated to fundraising. The generosity clearly runs in the family, as their eldest son Ralph, aged 5, is selling sunflower paintings via the East Lancashire Hospice website to raise funds for them too.

Leanne green, Head of Fundraising and Marketing: “Elektec are incredible supporters of the hospice, they go above and beyond to spread the word of the work we do for our community and are always there to support in our fundraising.

“I love being part of the challenge and seeing the benefits it brings for companies, it really does have such a good team spirit and knowing everyone is doing it to support East Lancashire Hospice makes it even more special.”

The money raised through raffle tickets will also be donated to East Lancashire Hospice, which costs £11,000 a day to run so every single donation is vital.
