To paraphrase Joe Biden, when I hear the words climate change and innovation, I hear the word jobs – and I mean green jobs.
Lancashire is a leader in advanced manufacturing, so now is the time to jump on the net zero bandwagon – with Boris Johnson’s 10-point plan and COP26 putting all the attention on the low-carbon agenda, leave Lancashire really build better.
Opportunities are emerging to secure – commercialize cutting edge low carbon technologies and create these jobs for Lancashire – produce new energy efficiency kits and renewable energy solutions.
But beyond that, we need to mobilize to train the army of installers required to use these technologies in every business, industrial building, and residential building.
We are now committed to finding these breakthrough technologies, adapting them to our manufacturing capabilities, and using all of the low carbon support we have on site to bring all of the net zero opportunities we can to Lancashire.
Leverage technology development support from the Chamber Low Carbon Team to build your innovation, the AMRC and its commitment to low carbon demonstrators to develop and showcase your product, and capital funding from RedCAT (Lancashire’s Center for Alternative Technologies) to expand your capability to build it.
The next step for Lancashire is to build the capacity to deliver these low carbon and green capabilities and spread them across the county, and to seek further government investment to keep decarbonization at the heart of Lancashire’s advanced manufacturing for the next Generation.
