Pubs and bars will showcase the game across Preston as over 500 fans will also visit the Flag Market to watch the game on the big screen in the Euro Fan Zone outdoors.

The Post can reveal that Lancashire Police and Preston City Council will now step up their patrols in the city ahead of Saturday’s game, which is expected to be one of the busiest since the pandemic began.

A Lancashire police spokesman said: “Many of us are looking forward to the quarter-finals and the opportunity to celebrate another England victory. We will have additional patrols on the way and work with the city council security team and street pastors.
“Our goal is to create an environment in our city that is a positive experience for everyone and we will work hard to keep people safe.

“We know that most people will support the team in a safe and responsible way. However, we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to reasonably enjoy the action by respecting others and acting sensibly to ensure that we’re making this game memorable for all the right reasons. ” “
Council Covid Security Officers will also work with companies to ensure security measures are in place throughout the evening, with taxi stewards deployed to reduce queues.
Councilor Robert Boswell, Preston City Councilor for Environment and Community Safety, said: “A lot of people will come to Preston to cheer England on in their quarter-final game and we are working hard with our partners to make it a safe place.” a pleasant experience for everyone.
“Covid safety officers will work closely with companies in the city to ensure that effective safety measures are in place and that companies know what to do. We will also be setting up taxi stewards to reduce queues and make sure people get home safely.
