From Pleasure Beach and the endless entertainment of Blackpool to breathtaking views of Morecambe Bay and Pendle Hill, there are so many reasons you could love Lancashire.

But what distinguishes the district for its residents? Is there a specific answer to why people live in Red Rose County?

We asked you what you liked best about Lancashire and you didn’t hesitate to let us know. Here is what you said.

It may surprise people outside the county to hear that Lancashire is a hotspot for good food – but it is. I’m pretty sure the entire county could step up for a place at Masterchef.

Debbie Walker said the best thing about Lancashire was “the food and of course the family seeing, but mostly the food”.

There are so many staples of Lancashire dishes. From the fresh seafood on Morecambe Bay, Chorley Cakes, and the Lancashire hotpots, there are several traditional staples to try.

It’s home to the UK’s best fish and chip, Papa’s, and it’s also a hotspot for independent good food. Scrolling down Tripadvisor will provide you with a lovely, reliable dinner from a local, what more could you ask for?

A breathtaking view

One of the most shared loves for Lancashire are the views. From the Singing Ringing Tree with a view of Burnley, Darwen’s Jubilee Tower to Pendle Hill Lancashire has an endless list of beautiful sights to see.

Violet Housten said, “The breathtaking view over Morecambe Bay and Blackpool is fantastic” and she is right.

For Sharon Ann Hughes the picturesque setting of Lancashire makes them “proud to be a Lancashire Lass” We never tire of looking at them, we should be proud to live Lancashire, such a beautiful place with a rural setting just minutes from everyone City away “

For Norma Boothby, the best of Lancashire’s attractions is more of a niche. So niche it pointed out the “welcome” sign you see when you enter the county.

Norma said, “When you see the Red Rose County sign on the highway on your way home from a vacation, it’s always a warm feeling to know I’m almost home.”

History: Roman Baths at Pendle Witches

Vicky Smith said her favorite thing about Lancashire is the “witches” that our next favorite thing about Lancashire speaks to. It’s history.

As an ode to Vicky’s direct reaction, the Pendle Witches Trial took place in 1612 and is one of the most famous witch trials in English history. It saw the 12 Pendle Witches accused walking through the woods from Pendle to Lancaster Castle. So yeah, “witches” are a great topic of conversation for the county, says Vicky.

It’s not just witches that make up Lancashire’s history, however. There are Roman baths, castles and at least 10 historical figures that changed the county forever – like John of Gaunt Duke of Lancaster, Oliver Cromwell and Henry Banks, “the father of Blackpool” to name a few.

The people and the accent

Surprisingly, Lancashire residents said that one of their favorite things about Lancashire was the people.

For Tracey Parker, Lancashire is not that easy. She commented, “I can’t tell you, but I’ve moved a few times but kept coming back. I think it’s the people who make up a place, not the place itself. “

Perhaps, as suggested by Pauline Little, it’s the accent. It clarified “the right thing” that is usually found in Heysham pronunciation.

If you ask a district what they like most about their home, they will of course mention the local soccer teams.

Tom Lambert commented, “PRESTON NORTH END FC” and because of the capital letters I couldn’t ignore it, it was like being shouted at.

Preston North End Football Club is a professional football club based in Preston, Lancashire. But Lancashire is also home to several other football clubs; Blackburn Rovers FC, Chorley FC, Morecambe FC, Accrington Stanley FC, etc.

With the sport so firmly entrenched across the country, supporting your local team is a way of life up here and you should shout this in capital letters.
